JINJA; found in Uganda – THE Pearl of Africa is East Africa’s Adventure capital and the second biggest town after Kampala. It is where we find the source of the mighty Nile River and a number of activities can be done in this adventure capital of East Africa from grade-5 rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, river surfing, quad biking, horse riding, fishing, sunset cruises and much more.

Day 1 – Kampala to Jinja

Early morning pick up from your residence in Kampala at 0730hrs. Head due east along the Jinja – Kampala road and through banana, sugar and tea plantations, road side markets, trading centers and a forest. Start your day’s adventure with a visit to Ssezibwa Falls – a Buganda Kingdom cultural site. The spectacular falls originate from two rivers that flow from Mabira forest. Enjoy the story telling from an informative guide at the site as well as have an insight of the Buganda culture. Thereafter, continue with your journey to Jinja with yet another stop at Mabira Forest for a forest walk to catch glimpse of some primates and other plant and animal species. Lunch break in Jinja town and thereafter, transfer to the source of the River Nile for a boat ride to see where the Nile states it’s approximately 6000kms journey to Mediterranean Sea in Egypt. Also have an occasion to see the Speke Monument which stands where John Speke stood and declared the discovery of the Source to the Nile River. Retire at your preferred accommodation in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 – Rafting and return to Kampala / Departure:

Morning breakfast and report for pre-briefing prior to the activity. Thereafter, set off to one of the best and most popular spot for white water rafting and kayaking – THE Bujagali falls. Enjoy over 20 kilometres of the best Grade 5 rafting you could ever experience on this full day section of the mighty River Nile. You do not need to know how to swim to do this. Safety is at a premium and therefore you do not need to fear at all. A huge barbeque awaits you at the end, perfect after your unforgettable experience!

Other optional activities include bungee jumping, horse riding and much more. In the late afternoon / early evening, transfer back to Kampala with drop off at your residence or at Entebbe International Airport if having an onward journey.
