This tour takes you through the rich cultural heritage of Uganda. The peoples of Uganda are remarkably hospitable with a diversity of cultures, traditions and life styles. These are illustrated through different ways such as music, dances, crafts, story telling, among others. While on this tour, you will visit communities, homes, crop farms, honey producers, local coffee farms, tea plantations, banana plantations, among others not forgetting the adventure part of it in the national parks thereby giving you a mix of wild life, people and culture.

Day 1Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Welcome to Uganda – THE Pearl of Africa! Go through the necessary immigration procedures and thereafter, meet and greet by our representative. Transfer to your hotel in Entebbe for overnight.

Day 2To Luweero-Nakasongola

Morning breakfast, check out and head Northern via Kampala and towards Murchison Falls NP. Start your day’s adventure with a visit to Kigoman Mixed Farm in Luweero. Embark on a walking tour and farm visit, prepare your own fresh fruit salad and learn how to make a Banana meal. Lunch at the farm and thereafter, proceed to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino trekking with a guaranteed opportunity of sighting the rhinos!! Continue to your accommodation for overnight.

Day 3 – To Murchison Falls National Park

Morning breakfast, check out and bid farewell to Ziwa. Proceed to Murchison Falls national Park with a first stop at the Boomu Women’s group for a village walk and in depth of some of the cultures of the people from Northern Uganda. Continue to Murchison arriving in time for a hot lunch and little relaxation. End your day with an introductory game!

Day 4 – In Murchison Falls National Park

Embark on an early morning game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile. Go trailing animals and studying animal spoors. Game in this area includes Giraffe, Elephant, Buffalo, Hartebeests, Lion, Uganda Safari Kob, Oribi and a variety of Savannah and woodland birds. After the lunch break, take a boat Cruise on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls for game viewing at close quarters. This is a paradise of Hippos, Crocodiles and Waterbucks. The boat stops a few meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. Enjoy photographic sessions of the Mighty Murchison Falls! Thereafter, take a hike to the magnificent top of the falls where you marvel at the Mighty Nile compressing from 50 meters and being forced into a 6 meter crevice to thunder 40 meters below in a series of cascades!!!

Day 5 – To Hoima

Early morning breakfast and proceed for a 4 – 5 hour boat trip down stream to the Delta where the Nile meets Lake Albert. Whilst on the boat, enjoy beautiful and magnificent views of the park as well as amazing animals and many bird species along the Nile. Look out for the elusive shoebill stork! Return to your respective accommodation for lunch and thereafter, check out and transfer to Hoima. Upon arrival, visit the Royal Palace where for an in-depth and history of the Banyoro people.

Day 6 – To Kibale Forest National Park

Morning breakfast, check out and take a long ride to Kibale Forest national Park travelling along the Albertine Rift (look out for spectacular views from the top of the Albert rift) and passing close to Lake Albert. En-route stop over for our picnic lunch and to stretch our legs. Continue with our journey to Kibale arriving in the early evening where the night falls with the sounds and whispers of the tropical rainforest.

Day 7 – In Kibale Forest National Park

After early morning breakfast, transfer to Kanyanchu Tourist Centre for briefing prior to the chimpanzee tracking activity. Have a morning spell in the forest as you track the Chimpanzees and other primates resident in this rainforest. In the afternoon, have a Bigodi Swamp Walk. This is an initiative of the local people geared towards conservation in this area. On this walk you have chances for seeing different birds & butterfly species, primates like black and white colobus monkey, red tailed monkey, blue monkey, grey-cheeked mangabeys, etc. There is also a variety of interesting plant species.

Day 8 – To Queen Elizabeth National Park (Mweya sector):

Morning breakfast, check out and bid farewell to Kibale for a departure journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park travelling through the Fort Portal-Kasese road. En-route stopovers for visits to the Ndali Craters (take a walk and view the crater lakes within the region), Rwenzori Sculpture Foundation and Rubona Women’s group! Continue to Queen Elizabeth NP arriving in time for lunch. Later in the early evening, have an introductory game drive to end your day in an adventurous manner!

Day 9 – In Queen Elizabeth National Park (Mweya sector):

A sunrise game-drive adventure!!! This park has got different vegetation types and eco-systems such as tropical forest, grassy plains, rivers, lakes – Edward and George, swamps and volcanic craters which harbor amazing wildlife species. With the massive Rwenzoris as a backdrop, game drives in the park provides excellent opportunities to encounter elephants, cape buffalos, thousands of Uganda Kobs, lions, leopard, Topi, giant forest hog, de fassa waterbuck and bush buck. After lunch, have a two hours launch cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel that links Lakes Edward and George. The launch cruise is not only a wonderful way to see schools of hippos and the occasional Nile crocodile but also offers spectacular bird watching, game viewing and photography opportunities.

Day 10 – To Bwindi National Park

Morning breakfast, check out and transfer via the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP to Bwindi NP – THE Home of the Mountain Gorillas. Have an opportunity to spot the famous tree-climbing lions, often seen languishing in Fig trees whilst on the Ishasha plains. Picnic lunch and then continue via Kihihi and through villages, cultivated farms, hills and a tea plantation to the Northern section of Bwindi NP (also known as Buhoma).

Day 11 – In Bwindi National Park

An early morning breakfast and together with our packed lunches and Gorilla trekking gear, report to the UWA park headquarters at Bwindi for registration and pre-briefing before you start the trek. After briefing and in groups of 8 pax each, enter the Gorilla Sanctuary for your adventure!! The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular. Time allowed to spend with the Gorillas is 1 hr. To many, a visit to these gentle and endangered giants is such an awesome, exciting and memorable experience to be long savoured! Note: The Gorilla trek may take up to 8hrs of hiking in the rugged terrain so good physical condition is a MUST!

Day 12 – In Bwindi National Park

Morning breakfast and embark on the Batwa Experience and village walk!! An up close with the Pygmies gives you an in-depth of their socio-cultural and socio-economic lifestyle (how they used to live, hunt and cook in the ancient days). Return to the lodge for lunch and stay at leisure the rest of the day or if you wish, undertake any of the nature trails around Buhoma including self guided ones.

Day 13 – To Lake Mburo National Park

Morning breakfast and check out of the “Home base of the Mountain Gorillas”. Depart with great memories of the moments spent with the amazing Gentle Giants! Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park with lunch en-route at the Igongo Cultural Centre. After lunch, have a brief tour of the Igongo Museum for an in depth of the culture and background of the natives of Ankole. Proceed to Lake Mburo arriving in time for an early evening game drive before returning to your accommodation for overnight.

Day 14 – Return to Entebbe

An early rise to a cup of coffee/tea with a bite! Embark on a safari walk for a face to face encounter with the residents of Lake Mburo whilst on foot. Return to your accommodation for a fully-fledged breakfast and thereafter, check out and drive back to Entebbe with en-route stops at the Uganda Equator and Mpambire drum makers. Drop off at your hotel in Entebbe for overnight.

Day 15 – Departure

Morning breakfast and have a short ride to Mabamba swamp well known for the rare shoe bill stork! The excursion will be undertaken by the use of local canoes on the swamp. Also to be encountered are many, many other species of birds as well as the beautiful swamp vegetation. Return to your accommodation for lunch, a little relaxation and in preparation for an evening departure. Drop off at Entebbe International Airport for onward departure.
