There’s a lot of ecstasy in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the birth of two newly born baby mountain gorillas. Bwindi impenetrable National Park is located in South Western Uganda covering an area of 321km2. It was established a national park in 1991 and recognized a world heritage site by UNESO in 1994. Recently Bwindi impenetrable national park has welcomed 2 new members in two different mountain gorilla groups – Nsongi and Muyambi groups.

The recently born baby in Nsongi gorilla group was conceived on 1st-May 2020 by mother Kabagyenyi who is assumed to be about 10 years old and this thought to be her first birth.

Additionally Nsongi gorilla group was again the first to be opened for tourism in this particular sector with 35 gorilla members. Presently, the group has 10 members including the newly born and is headed by Bweza who is the dominant silverback and believed to be the father of the just born.

Muyambi gorilla group’s newly born is believed to have been delivered on the 25th-April 2020 by a yet to be identified mother. This is the latest group in the sector to be opened to tourism with currently 6 gorilla members led by a silverback called Muyambi.

The newly born babies’ sexual categories haven’t been determined due to the tough protection from both mothers that can’t allow the Uganda Wildlife Authority team to get any closer.

Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable national park at present boosts of a population of 459 mountain gorillas which is almost half of world mountain gorilla population that currently stands at 1064.
