Overview

This is a 2 nights / 3 days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking safari in Volcanoes National Park. On the trip, you will have an ultimate guided Gorilla Trek and a quick tour into the city of Kigali Rwanda’s capital to visit the genocide memorial site and perhaps some local markets for souvenirs. This trip is also in favor of people that have less time and want to catch a glimpse on these endangered species of the Mountain Gorillas in their natural habitat.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Kigali

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative / your tour and driver guide who will then transfer you to Kinigi - at the foothills of Volcanoes National Park. Depending on your arrival time, you may have a short visit to the Genocide Memorial at Gisozi.

Driving time: 2 hrs

Overnight in Kinigi.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park Rwanda

Day 2:

The day of Gorilla tracking!! In the early morning, you will report to the Headquarters of Volcanoes National Park Rwanda for pre-briefing before you start the trek. Before pre-briefing, you will be entertained with songs and dances by the local community working together with the park. Your driver guide will then drive you to the starting point where you will begin looking for the “Gentle Giants”. Enjoy the unforgettable and emotional experience of your life as you come face to face with these Gentle Giants!! After the trek and if time allows, we will explore the beautiful lakes in the region (Lake Bulera and Ruhondo) or even visit the Iby’Iwacu traditional village (a local community tourism based project displaying the traditional ways of living).

Day 3

To Kigali and departure

A departure journey back to Kigali. If you missed the opportunity of exploring Kigali upon arrival and depending on your departure time, you will have a Kigali City Tour. The highlight of the city tour is a visit to the Genocide Memorial at Gisozi. For many visitors, a visit to the memorial is such an emotional and touching experience! We will then bring you directly to Kigali International Airport for your onward flight home.
