Overview

This 3 Days Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari gives you an opportunity to explore Queen Elizabeth National Park's diverse Eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. Game drives in this park, with the massive Rwenzoris as a backdrop provides excellent opportunities to see lion, leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephants, Defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, Topi and bush buck. North of the main gate is the crater area, one of the most scenic parts of the park.To the East, in Kyambura Gorge, visitors can climb through tropical forest and catch a glimpse of a variety of primates, including chimpanzee.Over 500 species of birds have been recorded here making it a prime target for birdwatchers. Species recorded include the shoebill stork, black bee-eater, 11 types of kingfishers and a variety of raptors including several falcons and eagles. The two hour launch trip along the Kazinga Channel between Lakes George and Edward passes through possibly the highest hippo concentration in Africa and many mammals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. The cruise offers an excellent platform for photography and game viewing.

Itinerary

Day 1
To Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning breakfast, check out and head South West via Kampala. An en-route brief stop at the Equator and thereafter, proceed for hot lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre or at the Agip Motel. Continue your journey through the Western Rift Valley to Queen Elizabeth National Park. A late afternoon / early evening game drive to end your day in an adventurous manner!!!

Day 2
In Queen Elizabeth National Park

A sunrise game-drive adventure!!! This park has got different vegetation types and eco-systems such as tropical forest, grassy plains, rivers, lakes – Edward and George, swamps and volcanic craters which harbor amazing wildlife species. With the massive Rwenzoris as a backdrop, game drives in the park provides excellent opportunities to encounter elephants, cape buffalos, thousands of Uganda Kobs, lions, leopard, Topi, giant forest hog, de fassa waterbuck and bush buck. After lunch, have a two hours launch cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel that links Lakes Edward and George. The launch cruise is not only a wonderful way to see schools of hippos and the occasional Nile crocodile but also offers spectacular bird watching, game viewing and photography opportunities.

Day 3
Return to Entebbe/Kampala

An early morning breakfast, check-out and transfer to the Kyambura section of Queen Elizabeth Conservation Area for an opportunity to track “man’s closest cousins” – the chimpanzees. Thereafter, drive back to Entebbe/Kampala with lunch en-route. Drop off at Entebbe International Airport for onward departure.
